There is no better deal than free and if you check out craigslist you can find some really good things for FREE.
In the last couple weeks I've been checking out the "Free" stuff on craigslist regularly. Look at the great things I've found. I didn't get any of these things but some lucky someone did, I'm sure.
Remember all these things were FREE!
An old pedestal sink and a claw foot tub both from the same listing...wow, if I had a house I would have taken these in a second.
A cute old vanity that could be fixed up nicely if only I had room for it!
A footboard for a queen size bed. I guess they just wanted the headboard? It looks beautiful!
An old door. I love the color but I didn't need a door.
A shabby Adirondack chair....love this but again, no room for it.

A beautiful old piano. I really wish I had more room! I need a big old house that I can fill with all the great free stuff on craigslist! So, if you don't look at the free stuff on craigslist you should but not if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area because you'll have to compete with me! (just kidding)
Update: The "FREE" section can be found under "FOR SALE"
I'm gonna check it out for my area! Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous - your Craigslist is much better than ours. I guess it is a good thing we don’t have such great stuff because our garage is filled. Actually, if it were up to my husband he would list all of the things in our garage in the free section of our Craigslist. =)

Wow! That's amazing and I'm definitely going to keep my eye on the free section from now on!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI look on Craigs list, but never for free stuff. I guess I have to check it out.
Thanks,
Rosemary
That is awesome. I live in a smaller city in the South, so our Craigslist goodies are not quite as impressive. I've never seen stuff as good as this in our Free list and I check it daily, too. That's just amazing. Someone is definitely getting some good deals!
ReplyDeleteYou see some awsome stuff. Not really anything in my area since im closer to the country, but it is still fun looking. Thanks for sharing,Brenda
ReplyDeleteok - I am going to my craigslist and look right now! I have only been there once and never thought about looking for free items! I mosaic so many pieces of furniture to sell, I could use the free stuff! Thanks!

My daughter is always bringing something home for free from Craigslist. They paneled one wall of their master bedroom with the most GORGEOUS solid wood paneling - all free for the taking. I need to pay closer attention to the free stuff. My sweetheart won't be too happy if I get carried away with it! ~Adrienne~
ReplyDeleteWow! I love Craigslist! Its great because it doesen't charge the fees like E*bay when you sell something! But on top of that we have some great areas that people seem to throw treasures away!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love the headboard! To bad you didn't need one! You could have picked it up for since I live in Sacramento! Only a couple hours away...lol!
ReplyDeleteGET OUT!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, queen of all things AWESOME!!! :)

I LOVE the Craigslist freebie section! I got my new vintage 1940s-1950s sofa from there, and a couple pallets of unused bricks--enough to make a 12' by 13' patio, and my last "win" was a truck bed full of someone's yard sale leftovers. I have another small sofa that is waiting for me to pick it up.
ReplyDeleteHere is a tip: look through the older posts before they expire, email the people if you see something you like, sometimes they still have the stuff. That is what happened with this sofa, the ad was a few days away from expiring & I thought it was so cute & thought I'd take a chance.
Wow, who would have thought ? Thanks for the great tip !! Blessings,

I came across your blog on the Rate My Space site, you are truly talented and should consider doing this for a living. You have impeccable taste! I'm going to bookmark your blog so I can read up on your next design task!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm going to have to check out Craig's list. I didn't realize there was a free section.

ReplyDeleteI hope your camera will be back up soon. For me, I would not mind blurry pictures from dear Cindy! *smile*
