A must read

This is a must read if you have children and go to the beach. (click on pink text)

I once lost my daughter at the beach and I know that feeling of panic! It's a feeling I will never forget but it's a something that I don't like thinking about either. Luckily she had just wandered off. This poor mother had something scarier happen....luckily it had a good ending!

  1. I feel a little speechless after reading that - I can just imagine the terror and helplessness they must have been feeling. I "lost" my 10 year old nephew at the beach when I was about 20 years old and I can still feel the absolute panic as I ran up and down the beach searching for him. Lucky for all of us he had just wandered down a bit. But it left a huge impression on me and I never would take my eyes of any children under my watch at the beach after that. In fact - my parents had a beachhouse and if more than three kids wanted to go down to the water we had a house rule that at least two adults had to go with them.

I am so glad this story had a happy ending.

  2. My heavens what a story. I can only imagine the panic that family experienced and I never would have suspected he'd be buried in the sand. Thanks for the information. We go to the beach often and never gave and holes a second thought. I will be looking now that's for sure.

  3. I had never heard of such a thing. It makes me feel so emotional for her. Our worst nightmare.

  5. Oh, wow. Just returned from her post, and was blown away by the vivid account. Chilling! Had read something about this type of thing happening within the last few weeks, and now I wonder of this family was part of the new alerting on this. You, and this family may have saved another life! Hope so, hope many are saved as a result. Thanks, Cindy!

  6. I cannot phathom the terror they must have felt and thank God that child was okay. I've heard of such 'buryings' at the beach.

Unfortunately, one of our blogger friends did not have the same happy outcome and lost her dear precious daughter Hannah while at the beach. http://hannahandlily.blogspot.com/
