What's under your cloche?

I love bell jars or cloches, but I always struggle with finding the right thing to put under them. I see them on other blogs and in magazines and they always look so beautiful. Every time I try different things with mine they just don't look right. These two I like the best so far. The top one has some cups and saucers and the bottom one has some old buttons, a garden ornament I bought at Longs Drug Store and a small picture of my mom when she was 18 years old.

I don't usually keep this one on my coffe table...I just moved it there to get a better picture of it. It's sort of clashing with the crystal candlesticks in the background...oops!

  1. Funny you ask. I just moved my largest one outside to my livingroom area of my pation. I have it pictured on my landing page of my soon to be up website: www.acottageindustry.com
I have a birds nest and books in it. Another one has a cross and...another bird's nest. Hmmm, I see a pattern here.
I LOVE your cups in yous!

  5. Love the way your cloches look.
I am partial to them as you can see from my blog. I am always changing what they have under them. I go with the seasons or what new thing I want to highlight.
    Have a great day Cindy!

  7. I usually change mine out (aka *tweak* :) until they look right..... and they are hard to photograph, at least for me!
The large one I have has a rose picture, a bird's nest, and some flowers.

  12. Well, I can't wait to see all these great ideas. I posted a new blog about my cloche today on my site. I have always loved these cloches, even before they were easy to find. My friend sells them in her shop and she gave me a set of large and small for my birthday. Thanks so much, Cindy, for putting my blog in your favorites! I love all your ideas. Those teacups are beautiful under there.

  13. I think they always look good...I have most of them out because where on earth do you store them otherwise??

Right now I have a silver birds nest and birds in one, a large white French Beaded Floral Bouquet in the other. Some are just "empty" atop the cake pedestals on my tea table in the living room.

  14. I love your displays. I have two cloches and both are filled with vintage books and bird nests that we have found in the garden. Maybe I will post pics of them next week. Have a great weekend Cindy.

It is hard to it hard to find just the right things isn't it?

    I struggle with that too.

LOVE your inspiration post today too.

  17. I love the cloches! I don't have one yet and I wish I did. I'm sure I won't know what to put under it, but it'll be fun trying to figure it out. ~A :-)

  19. My cloche is still sitting at Marshalls.....or at someone else's home now. The last time I shopped there I chose a tall thin apothecary over the cloche. My apothecary has been hard to fill to my liking~still sitting empty. I should have bought the cloche instead! Love yours.
