I love bell jars or cloches, but I always struggle with finding the right thing to put under them. I see them on other blogs and in magazines and they always look so beautiful. Every time I try different things with mine they just don't look right. These two I like the best so far. The top one has some cups and saucers and the bottom one has some old buttons, a garden ornament I bought at Longs Drug Store and a small picture of my mom when she was 18 years old.
I don't usually keep this one on my coffe table...I just moved it there to get a better picture of it. It's sort of clashing with the crystal candlesticks in the background...oops!
Funny you ask. I just moved my largest one outside to my livingroom area of my pation. I have it pictured on my landing page of my soon to be up website: www.acottageindustry.com
ReplyDeleteI have a birds nest and books in it. Another one has a cross and...another bird's nest. Hmmm, I see a pattern here.
I LOVE your cups in yous!
Tracey
right now, just a few forlorn beaded strawberries...I moved my spring time arrangement out & sorta dropped the ball after that...well...if I procastinate long enough, I'll be off the hook for summer & can do a fall thingie...
ReplyDelete:)
I was just thinking of posting my cloches, I love them. And your so right about how they are decorated in the magazines. I don't have anything in mine. hmmm will have to change that.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a small cloche because I love the look of them but haven't a CLUE what to put under it! I guesse I'll eventually find something .... ♥
ReplyDeleteLove the way your cloches look.
ReplyDeleteI am partial to them as you can see from my blog. I am always changing what they have under them. I go with the seasons or what new thing I want to highlight.
Have a great day Cindy!

I too change what I put in mine I seem to rotate from birds nest, shells now for summer and small angels for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteKathy
I usually change mine out (aka *tweak* :) until they look right..... and they are hard to photograph, at least for me!
ReplyDeleteThe large one I have has a rose picture, a bird's nest, and some flowers.
:)
Oh, I've always wanted a cloche but don't have one. Yours look beautiful! I adore what you have displayed under them.
ReplyDeleteI love both of those!! I have a smallish cloche & just have a teacup in it...I need to do something else with it. Your ideas have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteI have one on my coffee table. I put pink roses in mine!!
ReplyDeleteThen again I have roses almost everywhere!! :)
Jenn~
Right now I have a miniature green metal chair under mine. Funny you should ask about cloche's I received an email from Mary Engelbreit home magazine and guess what's on the August cover...yes a cloche.
ReplyDeleteWell, I can't wait to see all these great ideas. I posted a new blog about my cloche today on my site. I have always loved these cloches, even before they were easy to find. My friend sells them in her shop and she gave me a set of large and small for my birthday. Thanks so much, Cindy, for putting my blog in your favorites! I love all your ideas. Those teacups are beautiful under there.
ReplyDeleteI think they always look good...I have most of them out because where on earth do you store them otherwise??
ReplyDeleteRight now I have a silver birds nest and birds in one, a large white French Beaded Floral Bouquet in the other. Some are just "empty" atop the cake pedestals on my tea table in the living room.

I love your displays. I have two cloches and both are filled with vintage books and bird nests that we have found in the garden. Maybe I will post pics of them next week. Have a great weekend Cindy.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the one with the cup and saucers! Of course I adore those cups so that doesn't hurt!
ReplyDeleteI love yours...especially the one with cups and saucers in it. That looks so sweet.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to it hard to find just the right things isn't it?
I struggle with that too.
LOVE your inspiration post today too.
I always come here for decor inspiration. You have such an eye and so much talent!
Hugs,
Sue
I love the cloches! I don't have one yet and I wish I did. I'm sure I won't know what to put under it, but it'll be fun trying to figure it out. ~A :-)
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem! Nothing ever looks right under my cloches. I have a few and they are all empty for now. :)
ReplyDeleteMy cloche is still sitting at Marshalls.....or at someone else's home now. The last time I shopped there I chose a tall thin apothecary over the cloche. My apothecary has been hard to fill to my liking~still sitting empty. I should have bought the cloche instead! Love yours.
ReplyDeletePerfect! You have inspired me to try something like this. I think I've seen these cloches at Michaels.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the photos!
